Update: To ensure a smooth transition over to a new server infrastructure, we are running additional rounds of tests internally. We decided to postpone this release for another week due to March 17th, 7:00 AM CT.

Howdy!

Shopify recently introduced a set of changes to their checkout experience that require an update on how our extension integrates with your store. To account for those changes and to create a more stable and reliable experience for you, on our next release on 3/10, the new version of our extensions will be released and it will require a few changes on how your store is set up.

The update will require you to change a few settings on your store and reposition/update MDI blocks on your existing Shopify theme. We ask you to read the instructions below carefully to make sure you have them ready once the new version of the extension is launched. While our existing integration will continue to work, we ask you to update as soon as possible.

** Changes to your Shopify settings **
To make sure MDI's extension works as intended, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings > Checkout
  2. Set the "Post-Purchase page" toggle to "None" (as opposed to "MD Integrations Connect")
  3. Go to Settings > Customer Accounts
  4. Select "Customer accounts" (as opposed to "Legacy") under the Login links section

** Changes to the Checkout flow **
To use the new extension, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go out the MDI's extension settings page
  2. Locate and click on the "Theme Editor" button
  3. On the themes page, find the "Thank You" item on the dropdown menu at the top-center of the screen
  4. Locate the "⊕ Add app block" link located under "Order Details" over on the sidebar
  5. Select "MD Integrations Medical Intake" block
  6. Hit save on the top right corner to apply changes

After the update, our Intake Form will take care of collecting the Date of Birth and Sex from patients, creating a more seamless experience for customers at checkout.

** Order Details Page Changes **
To add the new action button to the Order Details page, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Theme Editor page
  2. Go on the "Account/Orders" details page
  3. If you are not logged in, log in using an existing Customer Account (that's not your Shopify Admin account)
  4. On the left sidebar click on ⊕ Add section
  5. Click on Apps and select the "MD Integrations Action Buttons" block
  6. Hit Save in the top right corner to apply the changes
